Back up protection .
In case of a relay failure, the nearest relay in the upsteam shall operate to clear the fault . The nearest relay may be placed in the same station or in the remote etstion . In order to achieve this , the relay must be properly coordinated - meaning the main relay which is supposed to operate shall be given sufficient time to complete the tripping process.( to be continued )
